Background
SwapNights.com membership is open exclusively to professional accommodation owners worldwide.
SwapNights.com is not open to home exchangers or other members of the public wanting to include their private home where they normally live.
We do however welcome those who own a second/holiday home even if it is not rented commercially. If you have this type of property and you do not have a website/listing for your property contact us before joining. You can use your personal Facebook page as the link or otherwise we may have other options available to you.
So why do we require a website or listing link to your property?
Generally speaking, any property that is eligible to join SwapNights.com should either have its own website OR be listed on a recognised website (eg: Booking.com, Homeaway.com, bandb.com or similar).
After all, it's hard to imagine a property that is commercially available that does not have a web presence these days.
So we require a website/listing link for:
Verification - SwapNights.com Support checks each new listing to verify status and make sure each property listed is a professionally operated commercial accommodation (not a private home). One of the checks we do is that each listing links to either a property's own website OR to a listing on a website portal (eg: www.booking.com, www.homeaway.com or similar).
More Information - We also generally want to see a web/listing link on every SwapNights.com listing so that our members can click through from the very basic listing detail on SwapNights.com to see more details about your property, and, if possible, check availability before placing a booking enquiry with you. We have a streamlined listing format to keep listing setup and browsing fast and we link to an external site/listing if users seek more detail on a property before deciding to book.
How to obtain your website or listing link
This guide shows how to obtain the link to a website or listing in the correct format to add to your listing.
It also shows how to obtain a direct link to an availability calendar, if you have one.
To add your website/listing link and availability calendar link:
1. Sign in to your account here: http://swapnights.com/en/login
2. Edit your listing. Learn more
2. Then, obtain the links to add to your listing as follows:
1. Property's Own Website
If you have a website for your property, you need to enter the link in the format:
http://www.yourwebsite.com
If you are unsure of your website address, navigate to your website and copy the link from the browser address bar:
2. LISTING ADDRESS ON A TRAVEL PORTAL WEBSITE
If you do not have a website for your property, your property will be listed on another website if you are commercially renting your property.
To obtain the link, navigate to your property's listing and copy the link from the browser address bar:
The above example shows a listing on Booking.com but the same applies to a listing on any travel portal website.
3. AVAILABILITY CALENDAR LINK
If your property website or your listing on a travel portal (eg: www.booking.com) has an availability calendar, you can also link to this directly.
The simple way is to use the same link as above - but if you can enter the direct link to the page or bookmark with your calendar it will make it easier for members to quickly check your availability.
Using the above examples, the direct availability Calendar links would be:
Property's own Website:
http://www.jendeladibali.com/bookings/
Link to Calendar on a Travel Portal:
http://www.booking.com/hotel/id/jendela-di-bali-villa.en-gb.html#availability
Obviously the above are just examples to show you the format required.
4. OTHER TIPS
Important: If you do not include the full address in the correct format the link will not work. Just entering a property number or a name will not work. If you forget to add the 'http://' the system will add it when you save your listing.
Check your link: Once you have saved your listing, we suggest you check the link(s) to ensure they are working correctly.
